Treating every client like they’re his only client, Nick Livengood is an experienced commercial real estate attorney who understands what is at stake for the businesses and individuals he is privileged to represent. His efforts have been instrumental in the timely and efficient closing of hundreds of transactions, while his sound, candid counsel is tailored to align with each client’s unique needs, goals, and way of doing business.
Particularly well-versed in ground leasing matters, Nick focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate, including representing local and national buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants in acquiring, financing, leasing, developing, and selling every type of commercial property. Nick also has an extensive background in office and retail development and leasing and routinely represents landlords in solar lease matters.
A Durham native, Nick joined Adams | Howell in 2020 after several years of real estate practice in the Triangle, both at another law firm and as in-house counsel with a commercial real estate brokerage and property management firm. Nick also previously served as a licensed North Carolina real estate broker, representing commercial buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants in the purchase, sale, and lease of office, retail, flex, and industrial properties across the Triangle. That diversity of experience not only formed the foundation of Nick’s acumen in negotiating, documenting, and closing deals of all sizes and complexity, but it also attuned him to the internal pressures and dynamics of his institutional clients and is why Nick prioritizes a detail-oriented approach. His commitment to responsiveness, thoroughness, and personal attention reflects his respect for his clients’ time and resources.
